Thinking about Shauna Grant who died after a self inflicted gunshot wound to the head on this day in 1984 (March 23rd). Rest In Peace.

On a happier note (?), did anyone else clock the poster of Shauna in Billy’s bedroom on Stranger Things 2? We were surprised to see her there, but thought it was perfect for his character. We also enjoyed the earlier reference Jim Hopper made to another sex symbol of the era: “I want a date with Bo Derek. We all want things.”

We’d be remiss to post Mariska Hargitay (who plays Olivia Benson in Law and Order: SVU) without including some of her mother and famous actress, Jayne Mansfield. Mansfield was tragically killed in a car crash where she was almost decapitated with the impact of the crash. 3-year-old Mariska was asleep in the backseat at the time and escaped with minor injuries. She says she will never forget the death of her mother.

After shooting her final film, The Misfits [1962], Marilyn Monroe and photographer Bert Stern collaborated for two series of photographs, one a standard fashion editorial and another of her posing nude, which were both later published posthumously with the title The Last Sitting.
